EPSM held its Strategic Planning Meeting last Saturday, 2nd October 2010 at MNS Auditorium.
The objective of the meeting is for members to provide their input to formulate a strategic planning document for EPSM.
The meeting starts with a warm welcome from the President, Mr. Nithi and a speech from EPSM’s Founder, Mr. Gurmit Singh.

Ecological Footprint Exhibition
Date : 2nd & 3rd March 2010 (Tuesday & Wednesday)
Time : 8am to 6pm

The main objective of the Environment I Care! Program is to introduce the various environmental agencies in Malaysia and their function in protecting our environment. The program also aims to educate and promote awareness of the importance of practicing a sustainable lifestyle among the university students toward environmental protection.
EPSM will have an Ecological Footprint Exhibition there, where there will be Ecological Footprint materials and Ecological Footprint calculation for visitors.
WHAT IS THE ENVIROWALK?
The EnviroWalk is a safe and fun activity that allows participants to appreciate the environment along the route. By observing and noting the positive and negative aspects of the environment, participants make suggestion to improve it.
The EnviroWalk 2010 is held as one of the activities in conjunction with the Environmental Protection Society Malaysia, (EPSM)’s 36th Anniversary Celebration which falls every year on the January 11th.
This 36th Anniversary was celebrated with a series of events starting with the EnviroWalk in Petaling Jaya New Town. This was followed with an Appreciation Vegetarian Lunch at The Pure Life Society at Jalan Puchong.

Note: It starts and finish at the Civic Centre, Petaling Jaya.
Duration of activity: 2 hours (on 10th January 2010, Sunday from 8am to 10am)
This activity is free for participants and open to people of all ages and background. It will be suitable for family members to participate.

Attached to the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences, Professor Lawrence is also Director of a continuing education course on sustainable development and Agenda 21 targeted at elected officials, public administrators and managers in the private sector.
Nithi Nesadurai is Coordinator of the Malaysian Climate Change Group. He has regularly attended the United Nations negotiations on climate change.
Environmental Protection Society of Malaysia (EPSM) organized a World Environment Day Public Forum themed “Your Planet Needs You: Unite to Combat Climate Change” on the 5th June 2009. The speakers at the forum consist of Professor Roderick Lawrence from the University of Geneva and Nithi Nesadurai, the President of EPSM. The main issue of the forum was the human race’s sustainability in this rapidly developing world. Human’s demand on the earth resources has exceeded the world’s biocapacity by 25 percent. This means, we need more than 1 earth to continue sustaining the way we live. This situation can still be retract with good urban planning.
